Unilever wanted to build up a design capacity within their internal tech delivery group to avoid the need for consultants and to ensure knowledge of the experience of various internal tools stayed inhouse for further development.
I architected and led a three-point program:
- Embed a temporary highly skilled and experienced Principal Designer to review and support work already in flight.
- Educate Unilever product leaders about design and design processes and produce documentation they could refer to.
- Understand the projects inflight and in pipe to propose what the size and skills mix of an effective and adequate design capacity could look like.
