Research was introduced during hyper-growth but lacked a clear plan, resulting in a tactical role with no strategic influence.
I worked to elevate Research to a more strategic position contributing to top leadership conversations and secured funding to hire a customer recruiter. This allowed senior researchers to focus on actual research instead of participant recruitment.
As a result, Research began informing go/no-go decisions for strategic bets and provided a deeper understanding of users, identifying roles that had previously been overlooked.
Introducing Content Design
Content Design was new to Pleo. As a highly visually driven brand and company, the written word was not considered with the same understanding.
One group had seen the value of hiring a Content Designer early on and laid the groundwork to bring in a more senior person to act as the Lead for Content Design.
This was one of my final initiatives at Pleo, and I believe this person will enhance the understanding and value of Content Design moving forward.
