Fairsail had been a recent acquisition of Sage and had become “Sage People”.
While the app’s success had led to the successful acquisition, it needed a modernisation and to be brought into the Sage brand.
A redesign is challenging as it is effectively a top-down exercise and the very notion of "top down" can seem counter to the agile / empowered team mantra, that gives production speed. Unfortunately, it doesn't give a consistent experience if there isn't a top-down goal to refer to.
The redesign of the Sage People was spawned by a hackathon that gave me the foundation to drive appetite and investment from the leadership.
